What
Professionals are Saying about AE Essentials
Dear Jayse;
The program showed
up a couple of days ago. I'd have written sooner, but I haven't been away from
the computer since it arrived.
I did it all
in one sitting just about, baloney it's 9.5 hours! I spent at LEAST 18 hours in
the first disc jumping back and forth with your excellent sections.
I liked it SO
much, that I wrote a short review up on the COW. I put it in the AE forum and
the Trapcode forum, Kathlyn asked if she could post
it as a standalone to which I agreed.
THANK YOU! This
is truly one of the best, (No, THE best) AE tutorial that I ever used, and dude,
I've used them all!
Way cool!
Not enough adjectives
to describe it!

Jayse:
The $99.00 is basically (for me) free. The tutorials on Photoshop and Illustrator
are alone worth the price of admission.
You have doubled my productivity. As a (what I consider to be) beginner with AE
your training CD's have really put things together. This is after:
1. Total Training PB for 4.1
2. Trish & Chris Meyers Creating Motion Graphics.
3. Ron Harlan Applying Adobe After Effects
3. Angie Taylor Creative After Effects 5.0
4. Trish & Chris Meyers After Effects in Production.
All of this and now I am finally getting it!
I guess I'm just a kinesthetic learner, or perhaps real slow! :)
Nice job. Looking forward to the next of your series! :)

I can testify to the
great quality of the training. I have taken the tutorials in the online version.
I learned enough to get a lot more than the Meyer books.

I
recently bought your training program for After Effect 5 and 5.5 and I just want
to say BRAVO. I really enjoyed your approach, tutorials and so on.
It
gave me confidence to try things and experience AE in some areas that I would
never thought of and most of all have a good time with it.
It
clarified most of the basic and non-basic gray zones that I had - even with my
reading on certain AE features.

I have just finished my VTC AE5/5.5 lessons
by you, they are a great
work. I have learned
much more than just myself
messing with AE. Anyway, if you are doing it again, do let me know. I will be
the first one to get the CDs. Well done.
I am new on AE and long being
an Adobe customer and fan, training material like yours comes in handy for
me to jump start the application.
Well, I guess I have to call you my
"師傅 (shi-fu)". (it mean
- master teacher in Chinese)
Thanks mate.
Cheers,

Hello Jayse,
Just wanted to say that I have really
enjoyed pouring over your tutorials in Creative Cow and just recently going over
(and over) the VTC online University thing for After Effects. Great
stuff.
Thanks again,

VTC AE 5/5.5 essentials online. I am very impressed with your teaching abilities.
Great

Hi, really cool effects. I want to
use it on my demo reel, with my own variation of course. I appreciate the trouble
you went through to teach others how to make realistic visual effects. I went
to Seneca College in Toronto, and my compositing
teacher taught us almost nothing of how to make effects such as this one. Thanks.
Michael Habjan |
Thanks Jayse
for completing this CD. I purchased it last week and enjoy the method you use
to teach. I also enjoy the fact you use demos and projects we can use in the real
world.
I am looking forward to the portion
with the photo montages with the depth of field/out of focus effect. This looks
completely different from any photo montage I have done.
Also thanks for sharing your skills
with us, really enjoyed the clouds tutorial.
Good luck with your sales of the CD.
By the way, I sure like the price,
I did not want the $600 training from (you know who)
Thanks again

Jayse,
I bought
your VTC AE Essenstials CD's last week and I'm almost through all of them. I've been
a participant of the CreativeCOW and I own numerous books on AE including both
books by Chris and Trish Meyer.
I've been able
to get a lot out of these resources but I'll tell you what I really got out of
yours...confidence. I've always thought
my work was crap(honestly some of it was) so I would never take that "step" to
get it out to the world. But the sections in your cd's concerning demo tapes and interactions with the motion graphics community
have really set me straight.
You've renewed
my love for AE and motion graphics in general. I'm 24 years old working for the Department
of Energy building Coldfusion and jsp websites...but my real love is motion graphics and now
I've got that
fire back.
Damn, I sound
pretty mushy.
Anyway, thank
you for a wonderful product and for paving the way for us.

Hey,
I
just finished your VTC.com class on Adobe After
Effects
and I couldn't be happier. You did a great job
and I certainly came away with
a lot from it.
Right
now I'm on to Cinema 4D and the teacher isn't nearly as interesting or intuitive
as yourself. Thanks for the help and hopefully you'll
be teaching some more software on VTC soon.

Thanks a lot for the reply.. I saw your CDs on the Cow after I e-mailed you, and the
next day I ordered them!! I can't wait to get my hands on them!!!
I can remember posting several months
ago about how much I wanted to see a product such as the one that you have just
produced created and made available. I'm glad to see that it has finally happened!
I do a lot of :30 second spots for TV, lots of animated
logos.... it's my bread and butter.
I am very much looking forward to
the new ideals and skills that I will gain from your product.
Thanks a lot and take care.

Jayse,
That was really cool of you to respond...
thanks a whole lot.... I am just getting into all this AE stuff, and I loved what
you did, so if you don't mind..... I will be using your tutorial on developing
an intro for our company.
Thank You,

Hello
Jayse,
Your
CD looks like it will be a great help for me to progress fast with the learning
process of AE. I currently use Quantel HAL and I'm excited
to learn After Effects too.
Oliver Massey |
Hallo!
I have bought your training CDs for
aftereffect 5,5. They're really great!
I have learned very much from it.
I wonder if you are going to make
an advanced training CD for pro bundle as well?
I was also wondering if you going
to make some more CDs with cool projects.
I have not so much time to find out
by myself so it should be nice to
get some more
CDs with example projects.
Thanks

Hi
Jayse, would just like to say that I really, really admire your tutorials.
bye bye

Jayse,
I'm in the process
of purchasing your AfterEffects 5/5.5 Essential Training
Video. I've compared to others like that of "Lynda" and "After Effects BootCamp",
and from what I've seen thus far is that your information packs a bigger punch!
Thanks for creating
the training video. Keep 'em coming!
Sincerely,

I
am just starting out with After Effects. Thank you for the cool site.

You rock!!
I really appreciate
you taking time out to assist me:) Your VTC CDs helped
me lots too, I pick up tons of valuable info you can't get from any books.
Thank you again

Jayse:
Still think you've written the best damn AE tutorial I've ever read. Can't believe
how much it has helped me out.
I just finished a piece for Sean Hannity (the radio and Tv Talk show host) that
incorporated some camera work that was made far easier for me after your tutorials.
They LOVED it and that's the bottom line, YOUR program made MY work a level better
than it was ( and it was damn good BEFORE! <G>).
Thanks again. Keep pluggin away, it's like having an extra brain in my head

From Amazon.com:
This is a must have for anyone wishing to know every single facet of the Adobe
After Effects program. The narrator breaks everything down to it's simplest elements
to ensure that nothing is missed. If you are serious about learning After Effects
then you definitely need to get this. You will not be sorry!!

Jayse Hansen does such a good job,
that I felt guilty for what I quickly learned spending such a small amount of
money.

| Just saying thanks. I received your
After Effects CD-Rom’s, plus the premiere one from vtc just weeks ago. In
time for a major project due in my department, I had used Photoshop and worked
in the web industry for years, but never motion graphics. Two weeks later I ended
up entertaining 600 people for a major presentation night for 18 minutes!!!!!
To rave reviews! I might get a promotion out of this yet (and have had many offers
on my services privately)
Anyway I hope your working on a new series.
Thanks again!

| Dear Jayse:
I finished the tutorial and again want to thank you for the time and effort
that you put in. I particularly liked the practical aspects, the constant reinforcement
of the keyboard shortcuts, and the practical aspects at the end. Surprisingly,
one of them spoke to me. I enjoyed the course so much I immediately wanted to
learn more (as you warned), rather than actually do something.
Thanks again,

Hey-
First, your AE 5/5.5 Essentials kicks ! I can't believe how much I got for $99.
I really appreciate FINALLY not getting ripped off. I bought AE 5.5 about a year
ago and haven't used it because I use Cinestream 3.1 and I consider myself a pro
with it. I have been able to quickly create the equivelance in AE effects and
such in CS until now where I have reached the second CD of your training.
Blah, blah... I guess I could have just said "I like it and thanks"
:-)

Focus:
Jayse Hansen recently released his new "Adobe After Effects Essentials" training
product -- a double CD training aid from VTC Training that covers many topics
from beginner to advanced -- and Jim Harvey was one of the very first
to buy it. Jim liked the product so well -- well, read what he has to say...
|
| I ordered Jayse Hansen's tutorial
set on Adobe After Effects Essentials about a week and a half ago. Despite
some problems with delivery (love my delivery driver -- well, sometimes!). I received
it in my hot little hands yesterday! Though I haven't finished the two disc set
yet, I've spent the last 18 hours locked to my computer screen, eyes bloody --
that's how excellent this tutorial set is.
Jayse Hansen, as some of you
already know, is one of the Cow's contributing "editors" here at Creative Cow.
His tutorials are well thought out and straightforward in their implementation.
Jayse is thorough and incredibly
well versed in the subject matter. When I first played the CD, I thought to myself:
"Oh Man, each little segment is only a couple of minutes long,
I'm NEVER going to learn anything from this!" I couldn't have been more wrong!
The introduction covers what
anyone who has a passing relationship with AE will already know, hence, that nagging
"Ahh, just another rehash...." Sure the interface is
well done but where's the meat?
Well Cowpokes, there's more beef in this two disc set than a bunch of steers in
Texas!
Jayse
knows AE inside and out and the tips and examples he presents are just so well
thought out that unless you are a complete bonehead, you're going to learn more
about AE than you knew was available.
The package claims that there
are 9.5 hours of instruction on the set. Maybe if you just sat there like a drone
and watched like it was re-runs of 'Leave it to Beaver.' I do know that the ability
to work along with the tutorials cost me lunch, dinner, my late night snack and
most of my sleep time. I've got at this point, 18 plus hours invested at the computer
and I still have another full disc to go
There are 274 QT movies on the
set that take you from the very basic of basics to advanced beyond anything I've encountered in books or
online tutorials.
I scanned
around on the second disc and was amazed at the depth of knowledge that Jayse
Hansen possesses with AE. He not only shows you HOW to create effects, but he
makes you ask WHY?
This is the key as far as really learning any program. If you don't know the questions
to ask, how will you ever learn and keep it in your head?
There were a couple of glitches
on the discs (a couple of segments were repeated, but one right after another
so it wasn't a big deal, I watched them as well in case I missed something from
the previous one).
The lesson plan is laid out
so that it doesn't look or feel like a lesson. It is as if Jayse is right there
next to you showing you how the program works, and how to get the most from it.
I am going to finish this set
tonight (well into tomorrow I'm sure) but as far as I can see, this is one tutorial
set that you need to get if you are at all serious about working with AE.
This one is a winner!
