before end titles w00t:
recolored and retimed galore!
Here’s the idea for the more finessed graphic look of Act IV
Here’s the workprint. You may want to prep them that it’s a bit frankenstein at the moment (if they’re not used to viewing roughs) - the audio has the gaps needed for titles/pacing etc., mainly between acts. That should be easy for you to finesse later.
At the moment - most 3d is wireframe, and there’s about two areas that are storyboard that will look the same as the already designed/animated Act IV pieces.
I think showing it this way may actually be good - gives a healthy respect for just how much work goes into the final piece. Also - the final will look 1000 times better rather than just ’somewhat better’ than the rough - which is also good. (I like my roughs ROUGH)
For the quality of the final renders, if they’re concerned, you can show them these (finals will have sky in the background and of course vPro Logos):
workprint v4 - 46MB
yes - hair and a phone cord - w00t!
Here’s the going’s on for Act IV - just a few seconds
I’ve set it up so that changing what’s on the screens won’t be a problem. Just let me know how they should be represented.

Act III v2 - highly compressed
Hey Scott! Here’s my .max file for all the parts i modeled of the non-vPro Office
Can you put burgundy carpet - different sign - etc. It’s SUPER fast so this is not a huge time-need-er…
After this is rendered i’ll do some overlays for it.
And with all that craziness - we are now almost back on schedule.
Take a look at v3 of the schedule for what we have left to do. It’s non-stop now!
Next milestones:
Wed. 14th - 80% DONE
Friday 15th - 100% done (in parts) - complete - finished
Sunday 18th - Finessed, edited, delivered to Peter!
Monday 19th - celebrate… or drop dead.
and what it’s all going towards:
act III sample < very rough - mostly without scott’s renders worked in etc.
it’s alive! it’s ALIVE!!!!! - finally renders without errors - ![]()

alrighty then, for the next round of updates….

heres a shot idea of the inside of the cable. still have to tweak stuff. this rendering took way to long
gonna have to change some stuff but i like the look.
these are new shots of new people. these are poser models look better but hard to work with
just built in poser and i am going to “pose” in max way faster for me anyway. still have to figure out the hair
and finally tweaked exterior lighting still have to comp in sky
heres some new updates for the office and cpu tower.
tweaked textures and lighting abit.
here are some test renders of the guy, Jayce these are white like you
wanted them but still test lighting. these are almost finished being rigged, but still need a tad of work to
get them were they need to be.
Final will be timed more with the audio - but here’s the idea of how they’ll zip in and out.
Hey Scott - Here are the reference pics i found for some of the people’s poses. Hope this helps!
here a preview of the office, just took the office we used previously and tweaked the lighting and materials abit
added abit more stuff to the hero desk to make it look more occupied. not sure about it though. what do you guys think
Jayce, i also up loaded a couple of cam path previews to the ftp site. a preview of the rotating altiris computer
and the path up to the desk. Not sure how you wanted the cam to stop on that no so i’m sure i’ll have to adjust which is no
big deal.
Animatic for clip reference on shot lengths
Animatic
updated for June 18th delivery
here is the 3d tower so far 98% done.

another idea - a bit more iconographic…
So here’s what I want to do for the intro. It’s in retro colors/design and a bit grunged to suggest that this is the chaotic past. The viewer can hardly keep up - making them yearn for a simpler solution. The angles and cam moves also suggest a phrenetic and disjumbled problematic situation that the following solutions will clear away.
The end of this test shows how the second actor will start adding his problems to the mounting ‘blocks’ of symbols and text…
Intro v1 (first sentence only)
Alright - so this is not everything we have to do - but it’s pretty close and it’s 3am so i’m going to bed!
Here’s the schedule I’ve come up with. it’s another super crammed few weeks - but I think it’s doable! Let me know what you think - and what I’m missing - holidays - etc. I am good: I remembered Chelsea’s birthday.
